Bureau of Reclamation - Glen Canyon
At the Glen Canyon Dam, we performed surface preparation and lining replacement on eight penstock internals. During this five-year project, we engineered a state-of-the-art aluminum platform to access to each of the 15-foot diameter by 400-foot tall penstocks, which were situated on a 60-degree incline.
We used Ultra High Pressure water (40,000 psi) surface preparation techniques to achieve a WJ2 standard while virtually eliminating waste. The existing coal tar system was replaced with a modern epoxy coal tar system.
