J.M. Stuart Station and Killen Station (2400 MW & 615MW) - Dayton Power and Light
We perfomed surface preparation and exhaust duct interior lining for the FGD system at DP&L. The first step was initial decontamination and surface preparation using 40,000 p.s.i. Ultra High Pressure (UHP) water blasting to remove contaminants and provide a surface for abrasive blasting. Once we completed the UHP work, we used abrasive blasting to achieve a near-white grade surface.
We applied a high performance vinyl ester lining system at 40 mils, a 100 percent solids flake filled epoxy novolac at 60 mils, and a chopped glass reinforced epoxy novolac system at 120 mils.
In addition, we prepared and lined floors, concrete trenches and containment areas with a high-build elastomeric system. Because this phase of the work was critical to the project schedule, we used specialized climate control, heating and insulation methods to control the work environment.
